Finally settled down

Hey guys, finally after a long time of absence I return to you with some news. Barely two month have been passed already and everything goes its way. I am fulfilled with my work. I have a lot of responsibilities, I am involved in the whole process of DB2 XML and my manager is more than satisfied with me (anthems of praise are pouring with rain :). Unfortunately almost everything I do is strictly confidential so I can't talk about it in detail.

These are my office buddies: Zeus, Preethi, Vishav and me - we are such a funny team tho

Anyway, I already left my former room since I didnt like it much. You dont feel quite comfortable when your landlord is saying things like " dont use the oven, we wanna save money" Not thinking of any kind of air conditioning. Since there is a brutal heat wave the last 3 weeks with constant degrees over the 40...well who needs a AC tho. They even shut down electricity in order to protect the power plant. Understandable if every household runs an AC of a size of a car. Thus I went for grocery for about 100 bucks (that was exceptionally cheap) and no fridge was running over the weekend and 50 degrees in my room...welcome to California. But who complains! My car runs great. It is a 1996 Mitsubishi Galant Turbo. Thats my baby, windows are obscured and everything runs great besides the AC. I dont think I have luck with these things. So far I was in San Francisco a couple of times..built on over 150 Hills with the popular Golden Gate Bridge...its more than impressive, especially at night.

Me and the some Germans in SF

Every weekend is party and I always get a new chance to get used to this crappy american water thing lovely called beer. Arielle is coming this weekend as well for about 3 weeks (yeah). I prolly get a week off so we are planing to do a road trip through CA, via LA, Vegas, Yosemite Nationalpark and the Grand Canyons. Thats gonna be terrific :)

My Precious and Me

This weekend we have a goodbye BBQ and Poolparty for the kiwis. Right, there are 4 newzealand guys saying goodbye after 18 month of working at IBM. There are sooo coool, and I guess nobody ever understood what there were talking about. I called them once English...apparently they never forgave me. So everythings works fine , I enjoy the californian way of life and baseball games. It took me 5 minutes to understand the rules and I have to admit...i like it pretty much. It played Oaklands Athletics (40 miles north of San Jose) against the Red Sox. Latter won. But it was fun and I guess I will join again.

In September we are gonna drive to LA watching a nascar race. The whole land is full of stuff to do as long as you can provide the money...and as you poor guys know, I actually have it :) But I have to work hard for it, sometimes 11-12 hours a day. So keep the balls flat. Ok I need to head out, some buddies wanna play foosball tho and damn, I need to practise a lot to cope with them.
Hope you guys are doin well out there...
