Arielle's Stay & Our Roadtrip

So where to start first? I dunno. Well it all started when Arielle came over here for a time of three weeks. We had a lot of fun the first 2 weeks including a beach party in Santa Cruz and some random parties at friends places. Especially the goodbye party of Kyle and Alan, the 2 kiwis...Cheers mates, hope you got back safely.

Someday we went to the Redwood Forest National Park somewhere in the South. It is not the one where you can drive your car through some enormous tree but at least we saw some really huge trees which I have never seen before. During the week I was working, I mean I tried at least. Arielle usually picked me up after work. No guys, I know what you are thinking but I still change my underwear on my own...no reason for becoming a p***y. We visited a GoKart track as well which was near to San Francisco. Actually I won against all the other German Co-ops :) and Arielle achieved a respectable good place.

Furthermore we went to San Francisco on a Thursday night for some famous 80ies party. We stopped by a German restaurant lovely called Suppenkueche. A good chance to introduce Arielle to some good German food and amazing German beer. So far the night was quite good and amusing till the point when we left the club and we realized my car was towed away. furell guys. We called the towing company and they leaded us to some scary looking ghetto somewhere in San Francisco. So scary foshizzle. Then some random guy came up and opened a garage. So what should I say...my car stood there in the corner between broken cars without tires and bumpers. What the h*** was going on there. I called the police and they recommended to pay if I wanna have my car back. Yeah Yeah to protect and serve... Well to cut a story short, the whole action has cost us 230$. But that wasn't the end of the story, unfortunately Arielle lost her camera in the cab. Well when shit happens then properly. But she found it next day again by calling all cab companies in SF and what should I say, some really honest person dropped it by. We picked it up next day and combined our trip to San Francisco with some more scenic. We went down the famous Lombard Street. Maybe you guys know it from some movies, it is that curvy road straight downhill. Honestly my car has problems sometime to get up these streets, it is so intense. Later on we passed the Golden Gate Bridge in order to get to a really beautiful view point where you have the best view onto the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, especially at night.

Anyway...in week three we finally started our roadtrip, the one I was looking for soo much.

We rented a crazy looking Pontiac and started our trip by running down the famous Route 1 along the west coast. Honestly the Great Ocean Road in Australia says Hello. Its quite fascinating to drive on a road close to the edge of cliffs and admiring the beautiful coast scenery. At night we tried to stop in Pismo Beach, a relatively flat beach town half way to Los Angeles, quite neat but hopelessly overcrowded by tourists. All campgrounds were booked out and every hotel too. Basically we called all of them and besides one for 160 bucks a night, there was no chance at all. We already dealt with idea of sleeping in the cars which actually was forbidden too..hilarious.

Anyway we found some place to stay...the damn cool Motel 6. Everything was booked out as well besides one room with a wet carpet...WET CARPET? Did they killed someone? Apparently not so this temporarily accommodation was highly appreciated. Next day we continued our way to Santa Barbara on our way to LA, really nice beach and exactly as you may know it from Florida.

Finally we arrived in LA, Venice beach to be precisely. Really amazing but a lot of homeless people, so it was really scary to go to the famous Santa Monica Pier and passing all of this. Anyway the hostel was really nice, kinda crappy but comfortable. We had a huge private room with a view on some drug dealers. It had something naughty and dirty ... hehe I like that. So it was a cool night. We headed off in the morning to see Beverly Hills and the Hollywood sign which at the end was more than a scenic tour. Los Angeles is quite nice but Chicago is still my favorite. We took some crazy pics tho...lets have a look.

Anyway then we finally took off to Las Vegas, 200 miles through the desert, leaving California into Nevada. The desert is so impressive and scary at the same time. And then finally a whole town rises up from nothing right in the middle of nowhere.
Honestly I have never seen something like this. Huge hotels, the Eiffel tower and crazy enlightened casinos. It is tremendous and reminds me of Disneyland. The Hotels are first class places, they have their own Jungle, Waterfalls or whatever. And basically everything is relatively cheap since they expect you to gamble a lot what we actually did. I didn't loose much money and somehow Arielle even won some money, weird! We had a great time. The first night we were slightly overdressed. Arielle looked so amazing with a short skirt, high heels and wet hair. Well some people actually were thinking that she was my personal hoo*** since I have dressed accordingly. I enjoyed to watch people's faces.

Next night we were leaving to Yosemite National Park over night. That was really tough tho, 8 hours drive or 500 miles respectively towards north and we arrived finally there at 6 am. We found some camping site right at the bottom of the mountains. Yosemite National Park lies in a valley surrounded by huge mountains equipped with waterfalls and hiking trials. We went to the famous Tenaya Mountain Lake where I took a swim. It was really cold but not that cold as one of the waterfalls with fresh spring water.

Anyway afterwards we did some rock climbing. That was fun and dangerous but since we are both crazy people, nothing is a real challenge tho :) At night we made some hot dogs at your camp fire and some s'mores :) these are marshmallows over the fire, wrapped in some cookies and chocolate, kinda national dessert :) It's called s'more because when your mouth is stuffed with it, it sounds like that when you try to say "I want some more". These Americans tzzzz :) Next day we started our 7 mile hike to Vernal and Nevada Falls. Straight uphill, constantly. But so nice once you managed it. Maybe the picture say more than words. Up there we took a refreshment in that kinda pool. Freezing cold but generating.

That was it, almost. We returned next day and the following day I had to bring Arielle to the Airport. These have been the most amazing 3 weeks ever and it was really hard to stay alone the next couple of days. She is my sunshine, my inspiration, my everything :) love you babe. Anyway, I am back to work now and won't have any weekends off for the next 5 weeks in order to work off my week of vacation. In a week from now I will go to LA again, watching a Nascar race with my german buddies. Guess there will be some party downtown as well, I am really looking forward.
